Hi everyone! If your anything like me you get sick of what seems like the only thing you can make with old bananas is banana bread. I recently discovered this recipe from my mom for BANANA CAKE!!

Banana Cake:
1 1/2c sugar
1/2 c soft shortening (crisco)
2 eggs
1 c mashed bananas
3/4 c sour milk ( add 1 tsp vinegar to milk)
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
combine all in bowl and beat well for 2 min
pour into sprayed 9x13 pan
bake at 350 for 30-35 min or until knife comes out clean.
frosting:
1 pkg cream cheese softened
1/2 stick (1/4c) butter
cream together
add powder sugar and mix (about 1 cup)
add 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 tsp vanilla
add more powder sugar to desired consistency. in total i used about 4 cups
I LOVED THIS CAKE!! It was really good and I loved the frosting as well. you could use this on carrot cake to i think and it would be great.
