Banana cake w/ frosting

Hi everyone! If your anything like me you get sick of what seems like the only thing you can make with old bananas is banana bread. I recently discovered this recipe from my mom for BANANA CAKE!!

Banana Cake:

1 1/2c sugar
1/2 c soft shortening (crisco)
2 eggs
1 c mashed bananas
3/4 c sour milk ( add 1 tsp vinegar to milk)
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

combine all in bowl and beat well for 2 min
pour into sprayed 9x13 pan
bake at 350 for 30-35 min or until knife comes out clean.

frosting:

1 pkg cream cheese softened
1/2 stick (1/4c) butter

cream together
add powder sugar and mix (about 1 cup)
add 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 tsp vanilla

add more powder sugar to desired consistency. in total i used about 4 cups



I LOVED THIS CAKE!! It was really good and I loved the frosting as well. you could use this on carrot cake to i think and it would be great.

What happened!!??

Hi everyone!

So I'm sure your wondering what happened? I haven't posted in a while. Not that I am a super regular poster but it has been a few weeks.

Life has been crazy!!

My daughter turned 1 and we had a wonderful party for her. You can see my last blog post for that. She was spoiled!

Then I got a new job. I am now blessed with the ability to work from home and it is a legit job! I'm doing data entry and I love it as I love to be on my computer.

I am still working on finding time to film the September favs as well as I have one video to upload! But with the new job I've been busy!

Lastly I was blessed to have October be my Jury duty month. Its only the 4th and today I was selected and am sitting in a trial. Thats all I can say!!

Grace turned 1!!!

Hi everyone!

So I'm sure you've noticed I have not blogged in a while. I have been super busy getting ready for my daughters 1st birthday party. She turned 1 on Sept 6 and we had her party on the 15th!

I used my cricut to make a bunch of decorations. I did a blog about that a few weeks ago. Here is a picture of one of the walls.  

Sorry its hard to see against the white wall! Here it is on the floor while I was making it..

We had alot of fund and alot of friends came!

We have alot of friends and family that spoiled the birthday girl.. we are so blesssed.

She got an atv from grandpa and grandma!!

and you can't be a midwest baby without some pink camo and some john deere

We sang happy birthday and had some cake to!!

we had a few more presents to open and then it was time to play with our friends!!

It was a great time and we are really blessed!!

Whats some of your favorite memories from your children's first birthdays. I loved the look on her face when we brought the cake out and sang to her!

I like that the vegan palette came with primer potion and a 24/7 eyeliner. Both are items I wanted to try so that is awesome!!!

Both palettes seem to be very pigmented and are shimmery!

August 2012 Birchbox

I recieved my august birchbox the other day in the mail. Overall I must say I like this box. This was the Beauty School box!

First thing I noticed was there was not the usual product page. There was a fold out card with different beauty tips on it. The descriptions of the items was on the back of the card!
