50 shades of......oh who has time!!

Hey everyone!!

Hope you are all staying cool.

So Friday was my birthday and so last week was filled with lunches and get together with family and friends. My mom and my sister bought me the first 2 books of the 50 shades trilogy. Then my mother in law bought me the 3rd. I was very excited to get these as I have heard they are awesome. That was over a week ago. I figured I would fly through them. That was over a week ago. At this point I have only managed to read the first 100 pages or so of the first book. It just seams so slow and I can't find the ambition to pick the book up and see if it picks up..

Has anyone else dealt with this for these books. I really would like to read them since they were gifts but I am getting worried I just wont get into them. And I don't have a lot of time to read either. If this book does pick up, has anyone been able to read it slowly?

Take care!!

Heat, heat, and more heat!

Hi there everyone!!

So I just need to vent about this heat. I'm not sure where you live but wow is it hot here. We have not even had any real rain for 2 months. Our yards look like the desert. brown and crunchy like sand. I have been trying to keep up watering but I'm pretty sure I'm fighting a loosing battle..
I've also been watering my flowers. They haven't bloomed much but they are green and alive!! So thats a plus!!

We dont have central air, just a window a/c. Its working hard but having a hard time keeping up. Especially when we hit 90 degrees outside by 10:00 am.

The other bad thing is that my car doesn't even have a/c anymore. Luckily we have a newer car and that has a nice a/c. So we only drive mine when one of us needs to go somewhere and the other has the baby.

Hope you are all staying cool..and drink lots of water!!

Have a good day!

Teething??? Cold??? either way a long night

Well last night was a night from....well you know!!

Grace has no teeth yet even tho she is 10 months old!!

Last night I noticed she had a bit of a drippy nose. She went to sleep well at 9:00pm. At midnight is when it went down hill. She was so upset and couldn't calm down. After a while I decided to give her some Tylenol. She finally nursed and went back to sleep. She then woke up at around 4:00. Almost exactly 4 hours after having the Tylenol. Again we went through the same ordeal. Again I gave her some Tylenol. Guess what happened next.. YUP!! 4 hours later we are up and in a bad mood again. We have been dealing with a crabby girl all day now. Her nose is so drippy and she has sneezed maybe once. She seemed hot so I had taken her temp. Mind you this was about 2 hours after having Tylenol.  It was 99.2. It is 3:30 pm now and she is down for a nap. I have given her some Motrin and hope she finds some relief soon. This momma is tired.

Everyone has their opinions when i tell them of the night we had. The most popular is "she's teething"  I see no change in her mouth. When I took her for her 9 month check up the dr said the teeth were "right there". Who knows!!

Have a good day!!

imPRESS Press on manicure

Do you have short nails?
Do you bite your nails?
Do you just wish you had fantastic looking nails?

Then look no further.
I received from Infuenster the imPress press on manicure nails to try. If you would like more information on Influenster check it out here. www.influenster.com

Here is the shade I got (this is not my hand!!)

photo from @influenster
They are super easy and fast to use. The longest part was picking what ones fit on your fingers. After that it was a snap! Just peal the thin plastic off the back, line it up on your finger, and PRESS!! The entire process took less then 5 Min! Great for a busy mom.

They lasted really well. As a mom of 2 children, one of which is only 10 months old, i was shocked. I figured by the first diaper change they would be gone. Boy was I wrong. They lasted about a week. They probably could have gone longer but I had my hands in water more than usual so I think that did a number on the sticky backing. They also did not ruin what nail I have underneath!

Knowledge is power, so here is a bit more information for you!!

The many uses of Ivory!

I recently was introduced to Ivory soap. I had never tried this before. I always go for the "girly" body washes that have so many smells you end up smelling like an edible flower garden.

Thanks to Influenster I was given the chance to try Ivory out. Influenster is a great program. You join for free and earn "badges". Based on the badges you may qualify for a "box". I qualified for the mombox. It didn't cost me a dime. All i had to do was try the products out and give my review!

In my box I received one full sized bar.

Ivory Bar Soap
photo from @influenster

I was super excited to find out all the different ways you can use this. It isn't your ordinary bar soap. I have been using it to hand wash items. I have a daughter that I breastfeed. Because of this I have washable nursing pads. I hated to put them in the washing machine. NOW I DON'T HAVE TO. Ivory leaves them smelling fresh and leaves no film or residue. I also now use it to hand wash my nursing bra's!.

*the pic is turned, the line on the right is the overflow hole! *

I have also been using this as my face wash at night. This leaves my face feeling clean and doesn't give me that "tight" feeling that some face cleaners do.

All in all I must say that this really is a great product. I also learned a few things about Ivory that I didn't know.

Did you know:
*Ivory bar soap is 99.44% pure (it floats!).
*effective laundry soap (just chip soap flakes into the washer)
*can even be used for a fun soap carving project

Also if you want to have some fun, put a new bar on a microwavable plate and microwave it. Or check out YouTube! its great!

I will definitely be purchasing this in the future. With all the different uses and the nice clean smell this is a win in this simple mom's life!

Have a great day.

It was a great size and was very flavorable. the oatmeal was not strong which is nice because i dont really care for oatmeal. The raisins were a great size and there were more then i expected. It was also nice and soft. Not dry at all..

welcome to my blog

Welcome to my blog..

Here's a little about me.

Obviously I live in the Midwest. Wisconsin to be exact!

I'm married and have 2 children ages 11 and 10 months. My children are my life. I am basically a stay at home mom.

I do have a job where i work with the developmentally disabled but i'm what they call 0 status. So I can pick what hours/shifts I want to work, if I want to work.

I enjoy scrap booking and reading.  I never have time for either anymore. So now I have decided to try blogging. I hope to be able to do this a few times a week.

I also have a youtube channel where I post various things. Everything from my day to day life, to product reviews and other random things.

Feel free to leave suggestions on things you would like to see me blog about or if you have any questions.
